I absolutely love the quality of this book, it is well done, absolutely beautiful, amazing collection of these classic books! So excited to have them, read them and share them with others! It show cases her art and stories perfectly! I will include pictures, also if anyone likes history, I recommend listening to The History Chicks podcast on the life of Beatrix Potter, knowing about her life, her talent in art, and her love for animals among other things adds so much depth to these stories! I am not even kidding! The podcast isn't boring at all it's funny and interesting and made me love these stories all the more! Excited to have this beautiful edition to pass down to my children, and for a good price! Arrived on time as well, brand new, no damage!! Extremely Happy!!

For Beatrix Potter lovers, this book is a must. It has all the stories, with excellent reproductions of her original illustrations. There also are little prefaces that tell something about each particular stories publication. The quality of the paper, binding, etc. is first class.I read these stories to my children when they were little and look forward to reading them to my little grandson when he is old enough.

This is a beautiful series but had no number 7 and two number 11's. It was a gift to a grandchild shipped overseas so it was too difficult to return it.

We always borrow the single-book version from the library. They're in high demand so I decided to buy the full version. I was fully aware of the difference in format, but I was still a bit dismayed. The trouble is the suspense is gone with this format. Your kids will keep looking to the other pics further on in the story. I suggest you get this only after you've read many, or all, of the books, and just want to re-read for the pleasure of it. Or if (like me) you can't afford the boxed version yet. I do plan on getting the boxed set as a holiday present later this year. But I wanted to get this now. My kids are always asking to read their favorite stories. And I use this as a handy reference for homeschool copywork.

The Amazon Kindle version is miserable to read. The pictures are too small and the text is off with the pictures. Just buy this one in print.

If you're human you will love reading the quintessential children's stories by Beatrix Potter. In fact, if you are a grandparent you will love reading them even more. Every child should have her collection to save for their children. My grandchildren love this little library and believe it or not they take a book out then return it to its box. I think they are quite proud to own those 23 volumes of books exactly the right size for small hands. The art work is spectacular in this set. Let's face it children read not just for the story but the artwork too. I love all those little tales.

I was worried after reading some comments and reviews here on Amazon about these books, but the set I bought for my daughter is beautiful! We haven't made it through all of the books yet, but the ten we have read are perfect. Very detailed illustrations, perfect coloring, no fading or other issues that some people have had with these books. Very pleased.

I used to read these as a child and now that I have my own daughter i can't wait to read this to her. Beautiful book!

Even though I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures, photographs, detail, and lay out of the book...I think I expected more than what I actually got. I've been interested in forensic science since medical school, and have read quite a few books. This one was fun, but it became less interesting and more preachy toward the end. I skimmed through the last part of the book, especially on the author's concerns over whether the public was adversely influenced by the OJ trial and the fiasco involved there. If I remember rightly, it was more the stupidity of the LAPD rather than the mistakes of the labs that stood out in everyone's mind. It is true that the FBI lab has come under more fire lately for mistakes, as should other labs if they do not do their job right. Lab work, whether for medical reasons or criminalists, can literally mean life-or-death, and it would be foolish to allow incompetence in either areas to flourish.For those just beginning to be interested in this field, especially those who think they may want to do this as their life's work, this is a good book for them to read. Be aware that the tests for DNA and other stuff is changing constantly, so what was written in the book, will now have changed...the field of Northern blotting, PCR, and other medical testing of blood components and DNA is changing about every six months, with new technology and more accurate methods of detection. "Crime Lab: A Guide for Nonscientists" by John Houde, ISBN 0-965-8286-2-X (HC), Calico Press 1999 - is a 205 page treatise by seasoned writer (20 articles) and publisher of quarterly CACNews. It is a superbly written and well illustrated (130) guide to understanding the basic principles utilized by criminalists in their forensic forays into known or suspected crime investigations. In 12 chapters Houde provides a brief history of forensics, depicts a crime scene (murder, assault, break-in, attempted arson) which is used as a ploy to submerge the reader into the probe as the investigation begins, describes encompassing the crime scene and how to record, photograph and analyze everything - from blood, saliva, sweat, vaginal secretions, pubic and body hair, animal and carpet fibers, and matching of probable murder weapons using well explained modern scientific devices including GC/MS, IR, SEM, polarizing microscopy, special tissue stains, ascertaining RI of glass, and details on collection, preservation and chain of custody of gathered evidences. They don't get any better.

I am using this for my class and it is really awesome. It teaches you by taking you through a crime that has occurred. Never encountered a teaching book like this that teaches techniques as you go and actually helps you apply it to assignments.

First, I'll say that this book explains things relatively well periodically throughout (so long as it's providing some kind of step-by-step information). I was excited about the price, too, because textbooks are often priced so unreasonably.That said, I purchased the Kindle version of this book for a class, because it was the required text. I got through about five pages in and realized that this is a terribly written book. It's like reading a crime scene seizure. It leaps from subject to subject and case to case like some kind of forensic mad libs. The icing on the cake was that when I was trying to copy and paste from the book into a word document to separate the nonsense from the information I actually need, I was told in an error message that I'd "reached the copy limit set by the publisher".Dude. I bought the book, and I am having to put labor in to weed through the godawful writing, and now I can't even do that. And for anyone who is thinking "it's because they don't want you to copy and paste the whole book and steal it and give it to your friends" or whatever, it's important that you know that anyone who tries to bring this book into your life is NOT your friend.

Cheap and a very good alternative for hardcopy book. It does the job. I love it.

I bought "Basic Trackwork" hoping it would have a lot of info on wiring trackwork for digital use. That is not it's focus. But this is an outstanding publication for laying trackwork, making it work, and handlaying track, making it look realistic. The book finds a good place in my reference library (after I read it a second time). I find going digital very scary in N scale, and am looking for all of the assistance I can find in publications before I start laying track again.But for anyone starting, or re-laying trackwork, Jeff's book has a lot of important, and great pointers. I think it's a publication and every model railroader should have in his layout room.

I'm getting to be a broken record here, but once again, and like his other books, I found this to be a fine and very useful introduction of the subject. He also had an up to date listing of manufacturers that is very helpful. For inexperienced and moderately experienced model railroaders you just can't go wrong with Jeff Wilson's books.

Covers all aspects of track laying including weathering, special trackwork, handlaying, superevevation, and many other aspects. Does not cover wiring. A must have.

Provides great explanation of techniques and tools. Would recommend to anyone, new to railroading or not, wanting to get off to the right start.

Came on time and the information in the publication was extremely helpful.

I have been waiting for years for this guide to come out in English. The wait was worth it. I have made it a point over the years, to visit these villages that are in this group. They have been some of the greatest highlights of the already wonderful country of France. I hope I can keep on seeing these wonderful places and maybe complete the set someday. This guide book will make it easier to select and and go there. Previously I just had a Michelin map that showed where these villages were. Now the book with it's maps and brief paragraphs about each village will take over.

An incredibly beautiful book, but SUPER annoying that none of the pictures have labels.

This book was ok. The picture are so so. It would have been nice if it showed where they were on a map.
